Con un repertorio de todos los clásicos que conforman sus 14 años de carrera artística, Luis Fonsi cautivó al “monstruo” y se convirtió anoche en el gran triunfador del Festival de Viña Del Mar 2012 al ser galardonado con Antorcha de Plata, Antorcha de Oro, Gaviota de Plata y Gaviota de Oro.

En su tercera participación en el prestigioso festival, donde ya estuvo en los años 2004 y 2009, Fonsi  abrió con “Me Gustas Tú”, de su séptimo álbum “Tierra firme” y continuó con “Quisiera Poder Olvidarme de Ti”, “Tu Amor“, “Aunque Estés Con El”, “Nada Es Para Siempre”, “Quien Te Dijo Eso”, “Aqui Estoy Yo”, “Abrazar La Vida”,  entre otros, más sus más recientes éxitos  “Gritar“, “Respira” y  su versión de “Claridad,” el tema original de Umberto Tozzi.

Antes de su actuación, Fonsi expresó: “Ha sido muy importante conocer Viña del Mar y la magia de la Quinta Vergara. Regreso con la misma ilusión.” “Lo especial es tener un público que hasta cierto punto es un juez que te dice con mucha honestidad lo que siente, eso te da mucha energía, mucha adrenalina, lo tomo con mucho respeto pero a la misma vez me llena de mucha energía y me dan ganas de pisar este escenario y dar lo mejor de mí”.

Y así fue, Fonsi dio lo mejor de si y el exigente público del festival mostró su gran cariño y admiración por el cantautor y productor puertorriqueño antes, durante y después de su emocionante actuación que incluyó bajarse al escenario para unirse a su público, lo que produjo un delirio absoluto.

Visiblemente emocionado, Fonsi expresó “De todo corazón gracias por la oportunidad en este escenario tan importante como Viña Del Mar. Ustedes no saben lo nervioso que estoy, esto no existe en ningún lugar del mundo.” Los quiero!”

A los cuatro galardones se le suman los siete que había recibido en años anteriores.

Con esta importante y exitosa participación en Chile, Fonsi culmina tres semanas intensas que incluyeron actuaciones en vivo en diferentes países incluyendo dos conciertos con lleno absoluto en el Coliseo de Puerto Rico, la ceremonia de Premio Lo Nuestro en Miami, un concierto en Venezuela y los Premios Cadena Dial en las Islas Canarias, Tenerife (España).

Durante este año, Fonsi continuará con su aclamada gira internacional  “Tierra Firme.”

With a repertoire that included a collection of classic hits from his 14 year artistic career, Luis Fonsi captivated “the monster” and triumphed at the Viña Del Mar 2012 music  festival as he closed the night receiving the silver torch, gold torch, silver seagull and golden seagull awards.

During his third performance at the prestigious festival (previously having participated in 2004 and 2009) Fonsi opened with “Me Gustas Tu”, a song from his latest studio album “Tierra Firme” and continued with  “Quisiera Poder Olvidarme de Ti”, “Tu Amor”, “Aunque Estes Con El”, “Nada Es Para Siempre”, “Quien Te Dijo Eso”, “Aqui Estoy Yo“, “Abrazar La Vida”,  among others. He followed with his most recent hits  “Gritar”, “Respira” and his latest single, a new version of “Claridad”, the classic from Umberto Tozzi.

Before his performance, Fonsi expressed: “It’s been very important for me to get to know  Viña del Mar and the magic of  la Quinta Vergara and I return with a familiar desire, to perform for a public that in many regards becomes a judge that honestly tells you how they feel. This fills me with energy and adrenaline and makes me want to give the best of myself on stage.”

And  so it was, Fonsi gave the best of himself on stage to a demanding public that showed their admiration and love for the Puerto Rican artist and composer throughout his performance which included a special moment where he joined the crowd receiving a tremendous reaction.

With excitement, Fonsi expressed “Thank you with all of my heart for the opportunity to perform on the important stage that is Viña Del Mar. You guys don’t know how nervous I am, a place like this doesn’t exist anywhere else in the world. I love you!”

The four trophies Fonsi received last night join the seven he had already received in previous years.

With this successful presentation in Chile, Fonsi culminates three intense weeks which included live performances in various different countries with two sold-out concerts at the Coliseum in Puerto Rico, a spectacular performance at Premio Lo Nuestro in Miami, a concert in Venezuela and performances at the Cadena Dial awards in Tenerife, Spain.

Fonsi now returns to his acclaimed “Tierra Firme” tour which continues throughout this year.
