Miami, FL – January 31, 2020 – Two of the most promising figures in the music scene today who are causing major waves within the urban genre, Mariah, the Princess of Miami, and the irreverent leading artist of the ‘mamarre,’ Guaynaa, are joining forces in "TAXI," a new song that proves this pair will show everyone “el nuevo orden musical” (the new musical order). “TAXI” was written by Mariah and Guaynaa along with Nicole Zignago, Galeynn, Lucry, Suena and Joel Iglesias, and produced by Joel Iglesias. With bold touches and an amusing beat, the video, directed by Cacho Díaz and filmed in Miami, is a series of moments where the taxi driver (played by Guaynaa) goes through a slew of different and eclectic characters in his vehicle, including a seductive passenger, portrayed by Mariah, who invites him to live an unforgettable moment in the backseat which the innocent driver simply cannot resist. As the two demonstrate in the video, the best things do happen “en la parte de atrás del taxi” (“in the backseat of the taxi”). The chemistry between both artists is palpable. Mariah and Guaynaa are intertwined so easily, creating a sensual and suggestive track with a blunt bass and the seductive rhythm that characterizes each one of them. Mariah, who recently received a nomination for “Best New Female Artist” at Premio Lo Nuestro and was named by Pandora as an “Artist to Follow in 2020,” is the most promising emerging female artist within a genre where male artists have traditionally dominated, promulgating female empowerment. To his own merit, Guaynaa has stood out for causing great waves ever since he broke out onto the music scene with the launch of “Rebota,” which awarded him his first multi-platinum certification by the RIAA in the US, in addition to being nominated by Premios Tu Música Urbano as “Top New Generation Male” and “New Generation Song” for “Rebota,” as well as a 2020 iHeart Radio Music Awards in the “Best New Latin Pop-Urban Artist” category. It is impossible to not want to see a collaboration between these two promising artists. This new song, “Taxi,” manages to effortlessly capture the essence of each artist and invites us to move to a beat that will make us want to party.
