This week will see critically acclaimed Latin Alternative star MON LAFERTE further introduced to wider audiences across the United States, as the Chilean born, Mexico based Latin Grammy winner joins Gwen Stafani for two national TV duet performances of “Feliz Navidad”.  The pair will perform their bilingual rendition of the holiday classic, which appears on Stefani’s “You Make it Feel Like Christmas (Deluxe Edition),” today, December 4th on “THE VOICE” (NBC) and Thursday, December 6th on “JIMMY KIMMEL LIVE!” (ABC).

“I feel very grateful to Gwen for her generosity, inviting me to sing with her in Spanish on these global stages that are so important. It is a loving gesture (precisely what the world needs), and a chance to present a Christmas message of unity and peace – for immigrants and for everyone in the world, when there is love and tolerance, life is simpler. Thank you Gwen. You are amazing.” – Mon Laferte

Widely respected for her fearless musical fusions of Latin Alternative Rock with a retro style and multi-genre influences. Mon Laferte recently surprised fans with the November 9th release her new album “Norma” (SpotifyApple Music), which finds her reverting to her given first name for a personal passion project experimenting with many of Latin music’s most beloved  dance styles. To further inspire a classic feel to the 10 song set, Mon Laferte choose to record these feverish single take tracks of cumbia, salsa, Mambo and more in the hallowed space of Los Angeles’ famed Capitol Studios which was a preferred home of Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole, Ray Charles and more.

“Mon Laferte’s ‘ Norma’ is an unexpected masterpiece, temporarily trading the artist’s cinematic pseudonym for her birth name. The album, recorded in one hour ‘a lo Sinatra’ at Los Angeles’ historic Capitol Records Studios, is her most cohesive yet, comprising 10 songs that experiment with a host of classical genres from cumbia to salsa to cha cha cha. [First single] ‘El Mambo’ begins with the singer murmuring spoken lyrics over classical Cuban piano, bubbling under the surface until the pot boils over in the chorus: ‘Tú tienes celos!’ she sings as the mambo erupts. Chronicling the manic rise and descent of the kind of passionate affair the Norma on the album cover might have, all wild-haired, shirt unbuttoned, and crying over a sliced onion, Norma is a feverish success.” – NPR Music
