“RUNAWAY”, HIS SUCCESSFUL SINGLE, IS CERTIFIED 2X PLATINUM BY THE RIAA IN UNITED STATES AND PUERTO RICO
Miami, FL – September 4, 2019 – Colombian singer-songwriter SEBASTIAN YATRA was nominated to four categories for the Latin American Music Awards: Favorite Album Pop for “Fantasia”; Favorite Artist Pop; Favorite Song Pop for “Ya No Tiene Novio” with Mau y Ricky; and Favorite Video for “En Guerra” with Camilo.
His global hit, “RUNAWAY,” received a 2X Platinum certification by the RIAA in the United States and Puerto Rico.
“RUNAWAY” has surpassed 180 million visits in YouTube, becoming one of the most watched videos in the world, and has over 80 million streams in the digital platform, Spotify.
The song continues to dominate the charts and remains as one of Spotify’s 100 most listened to songs in the world, positioning itself in the top of lists in countries such as Peru, Uruguay, Argentina, Chile, Panama, Mexico, Dominican Republic, Colombia and Spain. It has also placed itself at the top of charts in iTunes and Apple Music in more than 65 countries and debuted at #1 in countries like United States, Japan, United Kingdom, India, Mexico, Colombia and more.
“RUNAWAY” has become a viral phenomenon and has come to life on social media. With more than 20 million views on Tik Tok and over three thousand posts on Instagram, fans have uploaded videos of themselves singing and dancing using the hashtag #runawaychallenge. Additionally, fans have also been able to decorate their videos on Snapchat using the filter of the song.
This past weekend, the Colombian star performed at Spotify’s ¡Viva Latino! in Miami; on August 31st he participated in the Megaton Summer Concert Series, an event organized by Los Angeles radio station Mega 96.3 FM; and on September 1st, he performed at the Dells Festival, the first major Latin Music and Arts festival of the Midwest of the United States.
This upcoming Friday, September 6th, Yatra will release a highly awaited collaboration in Juanes’ new song “Bonita”, a contagious hymn that celebrates female beauty.
